Hi all! I wanted to take a second to officially share this video on my blog. I've been wanting to make a video for a long time now but the thought of seeing myself on camera was intimidating. No joke! I don't particularly like the sound of my voice let alone seeing my face staring back at me 😒. But more important than my personal shortcoming is encouraging my fellow christian introverts.

So Here it is! Straight form my YouTube Channel "The Screaming Introvert".

Here, I discuss struggles and impact that the more extroverted Evangelical movement has on those of us who are more quite and reflective. I don't know about you but when some people's natural tenancies are placed on a spiritual pedestal
as an example of how very christian should live their lives, that's a huge problem.

Could you imagine what it would be like if a subtle message went out that said "A true Christian woman wears her hair long and straight."? What about those of us who's hair was naturally curly? That would be silly. And yet, we often get the message that to be holy, one must be more like an extrovert as much as possible. How exactly is that honoring people in the way God made them?!

The fact is that we are all created uniquely. God knew what he wanted when he maid each of us so why try to change that which is part of his design an plan? I'm not advocating that we hold on to our weaknesses and refuse to get out of our comfort zones ( as I said, I really don't like my face or voice on video). We should be willing to go where God wants to take us. But getting out of a comfort zone and continually acting out of character is two different things. One will stretch and shape you into Gods masterpiece and the other will cause you to break and shrivel up into something very different that what God intended you to be. If you get nothing else from this post, Please get this, Allow God to shape your character, not others expectations. Now that's something to scream about!
